If you need additional connectivity, you can order up to two shortwave 4 Gbps SFP transceiver options (part number 26K7941) for connectivity to all host and drive ports. Each shortwave SFP transceiver option contains two shortwave SFP transceivers and populates two host or two drive ports.
For the model 72, depending on your requirements, you can use the six supplied SFP transceivers to populate six of the eight host ports (three ports per controller), if the configuration does not require DS4000 storage expansion units. Alternatively, you can use the six SFP transceivers to populate four host ports (two ports per controller) and two disk expansion ports (one port per controller) or two host ports and four drive ports. If you need additional connectivity, you can order up to three shortwave 4 Gbps SFP transceiver options (part number 26K7941) for connectivity to all host and drive ports on model 72.
